Lacrosse
Lacrosse emerged as one of the most popular sports at Tecumseh in the 1990's. Because of the immense popularity of lacrosse, Tecumseh has regularly had many of the top youth lacrosse players from both the Philadelphia area and Long Island, New York.
In order to keep up with the huge demand for lacrosse, a new lacrosse field was completed in the fall of 1997, built to NCAA specifications. The lacrosse program has a full line of helmuts, gloves, shoulder pads, sticks and lacrosse balls. Intra-camp games are scheduled on a regular basis, as well as inter-camp games with any camp willing to try and put up a team to match Tecumseh's.
The lacrosse program is headed up by Peter Gillin, former head lacrosse coach for Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. Peter first came to Tecumseh as an eight year old camper in 1979 and has been back almost every summer since then. He was a standout lacrosse player at The Haverford School in Pennsylvania and then at the University of Virginia.
The Tecumseh lacrosse staff is filled with many current and past lacrosse stars. In recent years, the lacrosse staff has included:
- Dave Delaney - former captain for the University Of Pennsylvania lacrosse team and a part of the Tecumseh family for over 10 years.
- Chris Haunss - captain of the Duke University team and a Tecumseh family member for over 10 years.
- Tucker Radebaugh - A first team NCAA All American in 1997 at the University of Virginia.
