Mountain Trips
Tecumseh is ideally located in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Each age group regularly goes out on mountain trips. Most of the trips are day trips to nearby mountains. Other trips are overnight trips to mountain ranges in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Mountain trips are age-appropriate and safely directed by a trained and certified staff. Hikes are easier for the Rookies and more challenging as boys grow older. They are geared for those campers who like to be out in the wilderness and are in good physical condition.
The highlight of each season is the annual trek up Mount Washington, the tallest peak in New England, at over 6288 feet. On several occasions over the years, the Tecumseh boys have managed to have a snowball fight in the middle of the summer up near the peak of Mount Washington.
Trips are led by Jay Luff, leader of the Trips program for over thirty years. Jay is an EMT and has been on several expeditions to the Himalayas in recent years."
Another special camping trip each year for the older boys is the trip to Baxter State Park.
